Amitabh Bachchan FINALLY breaks his silence on Aishwarya’s bold avatar in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil – watch video

VIDEO ALERT! You gotta watch Amitabh Bachchan’s reaction on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s character in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil….

So whoever thought Amitabh Bachchan is upset with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for going so bold with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, here’s your answer. Although the megastar has remained quite indifferent towards the film for he wasn’t even spotted at any of the special screenings but at the recently held Kolkata Film Festival 2016, Sr Bachchan finally decided to put an end to everyone’s worry by reacting to Ash’s role in ADHM as a sign of ‘progressive woman’ . Yes! This happened!

Considering the Kolkata Film Festival was all about celebrating cinema, Amitabh couldn’t stop raving about the fact how the shifting portrayal of female characters in the movies is related to the rights and social progress of women in the country. And while he initiated this brilliant thought, he also happened to draw instances right from Nita, from Ritwik Ghatak’s classic Meghe Dhaka Tara, to Rosy played by Waheeda Rehman in Guide and Tabu in Vishal Bhardwaj‘s Haider. However, the highlight of his speech was when he further went on to mention Aishwarya’s character from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil as he said, “Ki & Ka for instance was of completely reversal roles where she married a man who took care of her home. And then more recently there was a very liberated, a divorced woman Saba in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil who turned the tables on men when she told the lover, ‘Main kisiki zaroorat nahi, khwaish banna chahti hu.” Here check out the full speech below.

Not to mention, Abhishek Bachchan too had recently applauded Aishwarya’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil despite not getting the time to watch the entire film. He said, “Unfortunately I haven’t seen the film yet because I have been travelling with my football team. I will be seeing it in the coming week. I have seen the scratches of the film and kept seeing when it was under production. I think she is looking stunning. Also, I am very happy for Karan Johar and the entire team. I wish them all the very best.”

Guess that finally clears the air how Bachchans are not against Aishwarya’s bold decision with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Your thoughts? Tell us in the comments below and keep watching this space for more.
