After Salman Khan, Kabir Khan to direct Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh next might be a Kabir Khan film. And guess what like Sushant Singh Rajput, Ranveer too might play a cricket

Yes, you heard that right and first here on BollywoodLife! Ranveer Singh is all set to work with Salman Khan’s Tubelight director Kabir Khan. Remember not so long ago there wa buzz about Kabir helming a project on the lines of Azhar and MS Dhoni- The Untold Story? Well, this film produced by Phantom Productions is based on India’s cricket World Cup victory in 1983. This was the golden team under the guidance of Kapil Dev that went on to lift the first ever World Cup trophy for the country. Our source said, “Ranveer has been approached for Kabir’s cricket film and if all goes well after completing Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati the actor might start working on  this project.” If buzz is to be believed then before Ranveer, his buddy Arjun Kapoor was approached for the role. However, seems like Ranveer has now replaced Arjun and will be collaborating with Kabir Khan.

The film we hear will be a biopic of sort that will showcase the situation of India in the 80s and focus on the struggles of the then cricket team. Before Kabir came on board as the director, apparently the film’s scriptwriter Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan was helm this movie. However, Kabir who will be through with his Salman Khan project will start work on this movie now. This movie is supposed to go on floors either end of this year or then beginning of next year. Khan is currently busy with Tubelight and is wrapping his Indo-Chinese film with Salman.

Like Sushant Singh Rajput who scored a superhit under his belt with MSD biopic, Ranveer too might step into Kapil Dev’s shoes for this film. We hear that other cricketing stalwarts like Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Madan Lal, Mohinder Amarnath and Sunil Gavaskar will also be a part of the film and help groom the actors for this movie.
